(Montana) The Senate Local Government Committee is heard a bill Monday that they say would cut property taxes for Montana residents.
Senate Bill 90 is sponsored by Senator Carl Glimm (R-Kila). The legislation is meant to lower the property tax burden for Montanans by leveraging tourism-related revenue, according to a release from the Senate Republicans.
They also go on to note the tax cut is funded through lodging and rental car taxes. The bill also establishes a certification process to ensure only eligible Montana residents benefit from the relief.
