(Billings) The city of Billings held a parade on Sunday, June 2nd to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the passing of the Indian Citizen Act.
As the name suggests, the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924 made every Native American born within the territorial limits of the United States, be it on a reservation or not, an official citizen of the US.
Organized by the Western Native Voices organization, the parade moved through downtown Billings while workers in the crowd helped register attendees to vote.
