(Billings) A Billings man admitted to a firearms crime after law enforcement located a silencer along with 14 firearms in his residence while conducting an investigation, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said.
The defendant, William Henry Alberts, 66, pleaded guilty to possession of an unregistered firearm. Alberts faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
U.S. District Judge Susan P. Watters presided. The court will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors. Sentencing was set for August 14th. Alberts was released pending further proceedings.
