(NMB) With the new year, comes a new Mayor for the City of Havre. Wade Bitz was elected in the 2025 general election. He’s now been on the job for a few days. Leading up to taking office, Mayor Bitz was busy trying to get up to speed, and one of the most useful things he said was meeting with the city’s department heads.
“I met with most all of the department heads before the beginning of the year and was able to kind of get a better picture of what’s coming up in front of me. So, that’s been a very useful process.”
And what is something Bitz would like to accomplish sooner than later?
“I want to try and so some of the things that I heard from people as I was campaigning. Unfortunately, roads aren’t low lying fruit so, that’s out there a ways. But people want to understand and know what’s going on in city government and so, one of the things I really want to try and accomplish soon than later is to get our city council agendas and minutes in several locations around town.”
One of the other things the city needs to do soon is hire a new park and rec. director with the recent retirement of longtime director Chris Inman
