CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – The Blaine County Health Department partnered with One Health-Sweet Clinic and the Aaniiih Nakoda Nursing Program last week to hold their first community vaccination clinic.
235 people who qualified for Phase 1B of the vaccination program were inoculated with the first dose at the clinic, which was supported by the County Commission, County Disaster and Emergency Services and Blaine 1 EMS.
Blaine County will continue with these clinics as allocations allow while also working to ensure those already inoculated are able to receive the second dose on schedule.
Blaine County residents that are eligible for Phase 1B and are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine can call 357-2345. They will collect information and get in touch with appointment details as inventory allows.
Phase 1B criteria are:
- Persons 70 years or older
- American Indians or other people of color at elevated risk of COVID-19 complications
- Persons aged 16-69 with high-risk medical conditions
It is estimated that Montana will remain in Phase 1B of COVID-19 vaccinations until April.
