(NMB) The Havre Blue Pony softball team competed in the Frenchtown tournament over the weekend. The Ponies went 2 and 2 picking up wins over Stevensville 18-7, and Shut out Hamilton by a score of 15-0. The two losses came to Columbia Falls 8-2 and Frenchtown 7-3. Head coach of the Ponies Tony Vigliotti says he was pleased with the way his squad played over the weekend. ” Ya, I think as a coaching staff we were happy with the way we played. Anytime you step on the softball field you want to win, but to go two and two in that tournament with the type of competition you play i think was great. we continued to hit the ball. We played well against Stevensville and Hamilton, and we played well against Columbia Falls and Frenchtown as well, I think Columbia Falls and Frenchtown are two of the better teams in the State and the Blue Ponies proved that we’re right there. I think we got great outings from our pitchers all weekend in Avery Carlson and Elle Verploegen. We will get back at it this week in practice and get ready for a couple of conference games Friday and Saturday.”

Havre is Now 7 and 6 overall and 5 and 0 in conference play. Next up for the Pony Softball team is a conference game on Friday in Lewistown. The Ponies will be at Home Saturday for Conference games at 3 and 5pm versus Sidney and Dawson County.
