Havre, MT – Head coach Jake Eldridge’s Blue Ponies have yet to drop a divisional game this season but will put that record on the line against the Fergus Golden Eagles Friday night.
The Blue Ponies are on a three-game winning streak and sit at 3-1 on the season with a 2-0 central division record. Fergus will enter Blue Ponie Stadium with 4-1 record and a 1-1 central division record.
Coach Eldridge is and his staff know that this is their toughest challenge at home so far this season and are not overlooking their opponent. Eldridge spoke with New Media Broadcasters on what his keys to Blue Pony Victory will be.
“Well, I think eliminate mistakes and big plays. Lewistown is well coached team, they got a dynamic offense and a hell of a quarterback, a receiver, who’s probably the best one in the state, a really good, young running back coming up. . . you know we gotta slow them down.” Eldridge said.
“Offensively we got to be able control the line of scrimmage, and obviously special teams are huge with field position, so we got to execute at a high level there.”
Havre is coming off of a 64-7 route of Park on the road. While Fergus is entering the game on the heels of a 56-16 road victory against Browning.
