The Havre Softball Team continued its hot streak Monday evening, defeating Fergus (13-4) to improve to (14-2) on the season. Havre broke out to a (2-0) lead in the 1st inning thanks to Molly Huse home run with a runner on base.
The Blue Ponies built to their lead, scoring one run in the 2nd inning. Fergus made an effort to comeback scoring two in the 4th inning to make the score (3-2) before The Blue Ponies scored eight runs combined in the 5th & 6th innings. Elle Verploegen earned another victory in the pitcher’s circle, allowing 7 hits and four runs over 7 innings. Verploegen had 8 strike outs and one walk on the day.
Camille Keeley also had a home run on the day, going yard in the 5th inning. Havre tallied 14 hits in the victory, Avery Carlson went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Havre in hits. Havre had fourteen hits and twelve RBI’s on the day.
The Blue Ponies improve to (14-2) on the season, as they prepare for the Divisional Softball Tournament.
