Havre, MT – As high school basketball season is arriving, Havre high Blue Pony girls basketball is going to build on their offseason work.
Head coach of Blue Pony girls’ basketball, Tommy Brown said that their offseason main focus was individual skill development.
“In June and July, we practice almost every day of the week and put our kids through drills and stuff. That’s really centered on their skill development.”
Basketball is still a team sport and coach Brown made sure to get his team playing together at least a few times.
“We go to several different camps and tournaments, and we play the local teams in some scrimmages to kind of develop our team in a five-on-five setting.”
The Blue Ponies will play their first game on the road at East Helena and won’t play their first home game till January.
