(Havre) – A plethora of area teams traveled to Havre on Saturday for the Havre Lions Invitational Track Meet. On the boy’s side, Carson Nissen of Chinook won the 100 and 200 meters. in the mid-distance sprints Havre’s Tyson Brandon won the 400 meters, while Landon Beck of Chinook paced first in the 800 meters. The boys 1600 and 3200 meters were swept by Mason Gregoire of Havre. In the hurdles, Tanner Vick of Power-Dutton-Brady finished first in both the 110- and 300-meter events. The Havre A team of Tre Gary, Tyson Brandon, Deven Tyler and Cooper Walton placed first in the 4 by 100 relay, while the Chinook A team of Landen Beck, Jameson Nordboe, Carson Nissen, and Owen Davies were the gold medalists in the 4 by 400 relay. Switching to the field events, Havre’s Tommy Lewis placed first in the shot put, the discus saw Dane Grammar of Chester-Joplin-Inverness place 1st, East Helena’s Slade Olson was first in the Javelin, Dreyden Anderson of Box Elder finished first in the High Jump, The Pole Vault title was claimed by Tanner Vick from PDB, Chinook’s Carson Nissen was the long jump champion, while Ryland St. John from CJI claimed the title in the Triple Jump. Team race saw the Blue Ponies place 1st with 133 points. In second was Chinook with 114 points, and the Vigilante’s from East Helena High School placed third with 100 points.
In the girls’ sprints Kaydance Reiter of Havre continued her dominant season, placing first in 100 and 200 meters. The 400 meters saw Chinook 8th grader Charley Nissen finish first, while Bridget Reed from Turner finished first in the 800 meters. The distance events saw a pair of Sugarbeeter ladies take first, with Alexus Seymour in the 1600 meters and Ashlyn Ford in the 3200 meters. Turner’s Bridget Reed added to her 800-meter title, with victories in both the 100- and 300-meter hurdles. The Blue Pony A teams swept the relays. The A team of Ela Harber, Macy Brandon, Macee May, and Kaydance Reiter captured the title in the 4 by 100 relay, and the A team of Gracie Shandorf, Emily Leeds, Harper Wendland, and Marley Springer placed first in the 4 by 400 relay. The field events, saw Hannah Schoen of Chinook place first in the shot put and Javelin. The discus title was claimed by Katie Tilleman of Havre. CJI’s Brynn Kammerzell finished first in the high jump, Havre’s Taylor Leeds finished first in the Pole Vault, Macee May from Havre placed first in the Long Jump, and Jayla Ramberg from CJI claimed the Triple Jump Title. The Blue Ponies easily claimed the girls title with 192.5 points. Chinook was second with 95 points and Turner finished 3rd with 77points.
