Havre High School’s Matt Lemer has been on a tear. He finished fifth at this past season’s MHSA State ‘A’ wrestling tournament. His latest honor involved being recognized by one of the premiere wrestling duos in the state of Montana.
Every second week of June, brothers Bill and Mike Zadick host a wrestling camp down at the University of Providence in their hometown of Great Falls. They had distinguished careers in their own right, starting out at Great Falls High School and then working their way up to the University of Iowa before representing the United States in freestyle wrestling. Bill even coached the senior freestyle wresting team at the 2016 Olympics.
Lemer was one of the camp’s participants this year. At the end of the five-day camp, the Zadick brothers awarded a belt buckle to the camper who showed “the highest commitment, work ethic, and attitude every session.” Havre’s Matt Lemer was the winner of the belt buckle, officially named the “Camp Hustle Award”.
