Box Elder Man Appears in District Court to Face Several Felony Charges

GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – A Box Elder man made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Great Falls last week after being arrested for allegedly committing several felonies.

Eric Shawn Roasting Stick, 37, of Box Elder, faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, domestic assault resulting in substantial bodily injury and domestic assault by habitual offender for alleged incidents that occurred between March and July 2019.

According to court documents, Roasting Stick assaulted, choked and hit his girlfriend with a hammer and a wooden stick on several occasions.

If convicted of the most serious crime, Roasting Stick faces a maximum 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. Roasting Stick was detained pending further proceedings. The FBI investigated the case.
