
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – A Box Elder man has been arraigned in U.S. District Court based on allegations that he strangled his dating partner and attacked her and another man with a metal jack handle.
Brian Lee Big Bow, 44, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment last week to one count of strangulation and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. Big Bow was released pending further proceedings.
The Grand Jury indictment alleges that on January 29th, 2021, Big Bow strangled his dating partner and assaulted her and another man with a metal jack handle with the specific intent to commit bodily harm.
If convicted of the most serious crime, Big Bow faces up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
If a plea agreement is not reached by March 22nd, the case is expected to go to trial in early April.
The FBI and Rocky Boy’s Police Department investigated the case.
