GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – Last Wednesday, a Box Elder man was arraigned on charges of strangulation and domestic abuse by a habitual offender. Documents from the U.S. District Court in Great Falls say that 41-year-old Henry James Daychild, Jr. pleaded not guilty to both counts and invoked his 5th Amendment rights. He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release if convicted. Daychild was detained pending further proceedings.
On May 23rd, 2018, Daychild allegedly strangled and intentionally assaulted a woman with whom he has a child. Daychild has been previously convicted of at least 2 separate, prior domestic assaults.
