With the Montana Department of Labor and Industry releasing their Teacher Apprenticeship Program, New Media Broadcasters spoke with Montana State University President Brock Tessman about the effect the program would have through the MSU system.
“We’re so proud across the MSU campuses of our Teacher Prep role and Northern founded on that principle. I mean, a normal college, normal school and teacher prep, that landscape is changing so rapidly. Whether it’s at a federal level, state level, I think the governor and state legislature have invested heavily in starting teacher pay. I think they’re looking at all sorts of credential alternatives. We’ve seen robust enrollment in our teacher prep programs, and I suspect that will continue online as we need more teachers all the time. So I think various avenues into that classroom are interesting to contemplate.”
