ROOSEVELT COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – A 34-year-old Brockton woman was killed and a 35-year-old Poplar man was injured in a single vehicle crash in Roosevelt County on Friday evening.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the crash occurred just before 9 PM on BIA Route 1, when a 2005 Ford Taurus exited the north side of the road, traveled through the ditch and came to rest at the bottom of a culvert.

There were two occupants in the vehicle, neither was wearing a seatbelt. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver was transported to St. Vincents for treatment.

Alcohol and excessive speed are suspected factors in the crash.
