Havre, MT – Lights basketball has returned from their longest road trip of the season with bumps and burses after taking a pair of losses to Bellevue (93-88), and Dakota State (75-55).
Lights head coach Shawn Huse said his team battled and shot the ball well against Bellevue but couldn’t hold on late.
“Well I thought it was two different games. The first game we shot the ball like we do and put ourselves in legitimate position to win. Some things didn’t go our way and we didn’t and we got to learn from it and do what you can to be in even better position to win the game.”
Coach Huse new going in that the intense travel had the potential to limit his team’s energy.
“Having that four-and-a-half-hour road trip in between, you could see that energy that we normally have. We didn’t have the legs that you need to play a team on their home court like Dakota State who is a very big team. You’re going to have to have a smidge more energy to turn around and win on that Saturday night.” Huse said.
The Lights will now get a full week of rest through the holiday and prepare for their home opener against Dickinson State December 6, tipping off at 7p.m.
