WHITEHALL, Mont. (NMB) – A 74-year old Butte woman was killed in a single vehicle crash in Jefferson County on Sunday morning.
The Montana Highway Patrol says at around 10:15 AM, a 1991 Oldsmobile was negotiating a curve on Montana Highway 2 and slightly went off the left side of the road. The driver overcorrected, then crossed the center line, causing the vehicle to exit the roadway to the left and strike a boulder.
The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was the only occupant of the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was bare and dry. Alcohol, drugs or excessive speed are not suspected factors in the crash.
