(Cascade County) The Cascade County Board of Canvassers have announced an official voting recount to take place in 3 precincts in Cascade County.
The reason for this recount, they say, is because two candidates received an identical number of votes: Becky Anderson
and Jennifer Fisher each received 101 votes for Precinct A committee woman.
As a result, Montana law requires a recount for that precinct without any candidate needing to file for a recount. In addition, two candidates who lost their races have filed for recount separately, Cathy Koenig Brown has filed a petition for a recount of Precinct 19B Precinct Committeewoman and Michael Polaske filed a petition for a recount of Precinct 19C Precinct Committeeman, each lost by a margin of 10 votes or less.
The Recount Board will convene on June 24th to recount the votes.
