The Chouteau County Fair will be at the fairgrounds in Fort Benton August 18th through the 21st. Along with the usual fare, concerts, concessions, and amusement rides will the draw this year.
Brenda Thune, the coordinator for this year’s the fair says there will be eleven food vendors, with a few being pretty special.
“We have a new commercial food vendor from Great Falls, Spices and Spurs, and they are doing a pulled BBQ pork. We are also having shaved ice, and more cotton candy and street tacos and stuff.”
Chairman of the Chouteau County Fair Board J. C. Lindeman says he is excited to see concerts again and is glad amusement rides are back after a long absence.
“We haven’t had rides in 25 years. I don’t know when we had the last concert. We are having a concert this year.”
Darryl Worley performs Saturday night with the Joey James Band from Oregon as the opening act. Tickets are $30.Gates open at 6PM, show is at 7PM.
The Joey James Band will perform Thursday for a free concert at free-will community BBQ at 5PM.
The Montana Pullers Association will have a tractor pull Friday and Sunday a demolition derby sponsored by Jim Taylor Motors, Joyce Fuel & Feeds and Longhorn Storage. Each event starts at 7PM and costs $20 for adults and $5 for 10 and under.
Lindeman says a bundle pass for Darryl Worley, tractor pull and demolition derby can be purchased for $60 and give access to all three events.
