LAKE COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Highway Patrol reports that an 11-year-old boy from Missoula was killed in an ATV crash on Sunday afternoon in Lake County.
The crash occurred at 2:50 PM in Lake County, when the boy was driving a Polaris X2 800 northbound on Canal Road. He attempted to make a U-turn at Snyder Hill Lane, but the vehicle went off the west side of the road and into an embankment where it overturned, causing blunt force trauma to the driver.
The child was the only person involved and had been wearing a helmet. They were pronounced deceased on scene.
The road was dry at the time of the crash.
