The Chinook High School winter awards ceremony took place at the Floyd-Bowen Gymnasium on Tuesday night. The event honored players who competed in basketball, wrestling, and cheer.
Both basketball teams will be graduating two seniors after the 2023-24 season: Hallie Neibauer and Jenna Liddle for the girls and Gyme Kelly and Jackson Nordboe for the boys.
For boys basketball, Nordboe was the big winner of the night. He officially gained his fourth letter in the sport while also winning the Tom Kezar MVP and the Harold Gorman Free Throw at 65.7%. He was also an academic All-State member. The girls’ basketball counterpart was Neibauer, who also earned a fourth letter and was all-conference and all-state with a free throw percentage of 61.5% to go along with the All-Academic State listing. She was joined in the All-State category by junior Alexus Seymour.
For wrestling, Gauge Chapman earned a certificate. Sophomore Emma Klingaman earned her second letter and was an all-state wrestler, placing third in her weight division as well as was named all-conference and academic all-state. She was joined on the All-State list by Grace Buck and Walter Schoen, each finishing fourth in their respective weight classes down in Billings earlier this year.
