Like much of the Montana high school sports landscape, the Chinook girls’ basketball team had to make adjustments to its schedule last week, postponing their home game with Conrad to Jan. 26 and canceling the following road contest at Chester-Joplin-Inverness because of the frigid weather.
New Media Broadcasters talked with Lady Beeters coach Mike Seymour and he said what the team did to be safe but also be productive.
“We were able to practice on both Thursday and Friday. We did not practice Saturday,” Seymour said. “It was an opportunity for us to get into the gym and look at some things offensively that we wanted to make adaptations to and then defensively just sure some things up.”
The test this week will be playing against teams that have already come up in the earlier part of the schedule for the Chinook girls’ basketball team. Coach Seymour said what the mentality will be for his team in practice this week with seeing the same opponents again.
“The second time around, teams are going to make adjustments,” Seymour said. “We’re trying to make adjustments as well prior to the games and obviously, in-game adjustments will need to be made.”
