The Chinook girls’ basketball team (4-0) is still undefeated and coming off of a (64-35) win over Shelby on Saturday. New Media Broadcasters spoke with Lady Beeters coach Mike Seymour and he praised the team for holding the Coyotes in the first half but would have liked to see his team come out better offensively after halftime.
“The first half, I was very pleased with our defensive intensity and the execution of our offense,” Seymour said. “(I thought in the) second half, (we came) out a little slow and (we had) to find a way to start that third quarter a little bit better.”
Chinook now has only a couple of days to think about the next set of games, a road test at Fort Benton followed by a home contest with Rocky Boy. Seymour said his team will be ready to compete on the short week.
“I don’t think (the short week) is going to affect us at all,” Seymour said. “Our girls have brought their game every day to practice.”
“They’re excited to play whoever, whenever,” Seymour continued. “We’re excited for two more contests and a couple more challenges to see where we’re out and what we need to improve upon.”
The Chinook-Fort Benton contest will be on Tuesday night at 6pm and you can listen to that one on KRYK-101.3FM with Isreal Hale and Kyle Leeds on the call.
