ROCKY BOY, Mont. (NMB) – The Chippewa Cree Tribe has enacted a stay at home order in an attempt to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on the Rocky Boy’s Reservation.
The resolution was enacted by the Chippewa Cree Business Committee on Saturday.
The stay at home order still allows people to engage in outdoor activities such as walking and biking. It also allows for people to make trips to stores for essential needs and allows for private gatherings of not more than 10 non-relatives in a place of residence.
There is a mandated curfew from 10 PM to 6 AM that applies to everyone on the reservation except for essential business, government, and nonprofit workers, as well as anyone needing medical assistance.
The order is effective immediately and will not expire until it is rescinded by the Chippewa Cree Business Committee.
As of Monday morning, there have not been any confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the reservation.
