Chouteau County Candidate Filing Nearing Conclusion

FORT BENTON, Mont. (NMB) – The filing deadline for the 2022 election season is set to conclude on the evening of March 14th, and in Chouteau County, there will be at least two contested races.

For District 2 County Commissioner, Republican incumbent Clay Riehl will face a primary challenge from Dan Wirth.

For the non-partisan Justice of the Peace, the candidates are Seth W. Broesder and Sissy Felton. Incumbent Susan Spencer has yet to file.

All other candidates that have filed are incumbents. They are:

  • Sheriff (R – Vern Burdick)
  • Clerk & Recorder (R – Lana Claassen)
  • Treasurer (R – Toni Frieling Eckhoff)
  • County Attorney (R – Stephen A. Gannon)

Primary election day is June 7th, and the General Election will take place on November 8th.
