Chouteau County Fair Kicks off on Friday

FORT BENTON, Mont. (NMB) – The annual Chouteau County Fair kicks off Friday in Fort Benton, with the entry day on Thursday. Fair Office Manager Shirley Embleton says they will have plenty of free entertainment, along with a Pig Wrestling contest on Friday and the Demolition Derby on Sunday. Saturday night will be their Truck and Tractor Pull.

“The event entertainment that evening is the Western Grand National Pulling Event, which is a truck and tractor pull and there’s entries open to the public. Otherwise there’s also professional pullers and Chouteau County Fair was kind of known for many years for their Tractor Pull.”

Embleton says that the Demolition Derby is designed to draw local people to participate in the event.

“The Chain and Go event is something we started a couple years ago to get local people interested in the Demolition Derby again. It turned into kind of a professional event for a while there, and we’re trying to take it back to inexpensive, get your car, knock the glass out and chain the doors up, put some safety things in it, and come down and participate.”

Stay tuned to New Media Broadcasters this weekend, as Tony Vigliotti will be broadcasting from the 2019 Chouteau County Fair.
