(Havre) – The Havre City Council met in regular session on Monday Night. The council passed all items on the agenda unanimously. The council confirmed a mayoral proclamation for Drinking Water Week May 3rd through 9th. The Havre Water Treatment Plant and Havre Wastewater Treatment plant are hosting open house events today and tomorrow from 2pm until 7pm. It was also announced that the city ordinance committee will meet at 6pm on Monday May 18th at City Hall to discuss removing chickens from prohibited animals allowed inside city limits.
The city budget was adjusted to account for donations sent to the city for Optimist Park and the fire department, and Brandon Kohler was appointed as a probationary police officer. After the Hill County Commission passed it in April, the City of Havre passed the updated Interlocal Agreement between Hill County and the City of Havre for the City-County Board of Health. This document has not been updated since 1981.
Finally, the council approved the request from the H-Line Arts Council and Havre Chamber of Commerce for street closures during the 2026 Art Alley Celebration taking place on May 29th.
