City Holds First Safe Streets for all Meeting

(Havre) – The City of Havre, Hill County, and the Havre Division of the Montana Department of Transportation held the first public Safe Streets For All Planning Committee meeting at Havre City Hall on Thursday afternoon.

A presentation about the process for the Safe Streets For All Program and its Vision Zero goal was presented, and it was stressed that community input is Havre and Hill County Citizens is needed to formulate a plan that works best for the needs of the community.

The survey is an interactive map online that allows citizens to pin and comment on the areas of Havre and Hill County that need to be addressed in this safe streets for all plan. At the meeting on Thursday, it was noted that hard copy surveys are needed as not all residents are computer or Internet savvy. The panning group agreed, and City of Havre Public Works director Trevor Mork will work on distribution of these hard copy surveys in key areas and at events in the community.
