Coach Accused of Sexually Abusing a Minor

GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) –  A Stonechild College assistant basketball coach has been charged with sexually abusing a minor.

Christopher Brown, 31, was arrested on Tuesday, January 28 for having sex with a minor that he met and tutored on the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation.

In a press release from the Department of Justice, Brown of Box Elder, has been accused of having sex with the minor on more than one occasion from July 2018 to December 2019.

If convicted, Brown will face up to 15 years in prison and $250,000 fine.

A detention hearing was scheduled for January 30, at 10 a.m. in Great Falls but was terminated by Christopher Brown on Wednesday, January 29.

He remains in custody and his case will be presented to a grand jury for an indictment.
