HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A Hill County couple is facing multiple felonies in Hill County District Court on accusations of shipping illegal drugs into the local Detention Center.
Shawn Keith Rosette, born in 1992, is facing the felonies of criminal distribution of dangerous drugs, transferring illegal articles, solicitation to commit criminal distribution of dangerous drugs and solicitation to commit transferring illegal articles.
Crystal M. Parker is facing the felonies of attempted criminal distribution of dangerous drugs and attempted transferring of illegal articles.
Court documents state that Rosette and Parker consider themselves to be married.
Affidavits filed in the cases allege that on July 24th, and August 1st, 2020, a Hill County Detention Center Officer inspected Rosette’s incoming mail and found Suboxone, a schedule II dangerous drug, attached to the back of stamps.
The evidence was further inspected by the Tri-Agency Task Force, which found that the envelopes were mailed by Crystal Parker, who also goes by the name Crystal Rosette.
Court documents further state that a review of jail calls between Rosette and Parker found that they spoke in vague language about the shipments prior to their arrival.
In an interview with the Tri-Agency task force, Rosette admitted to telling Parker to send the drugs in the letters, and that he had distributed them to five different inmates in exchange for money or phone cards.
Rosette’s arraignment is scheduled for August 31st, while Parker’s arraignment is set for September 14th.
Rosette has been in the Hill County Detention Center since April 24th, 2020. He has already been sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections, all suspended, after being found guilty of felony conspiracy for criminal distribution of dangerous drugs. Rosette was also sentenced to three years in the DOC, none suspended, after his suspended sentence for felony failure to register as a sexual or violent offender was revoked.
