(Havre) Released this week were the final results of the Comprehensive Performance Evaluation, or CPE, done on Havre’s water treatment plant earlier this year, the report saying the specific days were May 20th through the 24th, and the evaluation team was comprised of two individuals from Process Applications Inc., a third party out of Fort Collins, Colorado.
The Montana Department of Environmental Quality requested this CPE after Havre’s Water Treatment Plant failed to meet the state’s standards for treatment in February and March of this year, and as a result the Hill County Health Department recorded at least 3 cases of Giardiasis, a waterborne illness, in that time frame.
For reference, the yearly average of Giardia cases in Hill County comes out to less than 1 per year.
The results are available for the public to view at the bottom of the Havre Public Works webpage.
