Day 1 of Class “B” State Golf Tournament

The State Class B Golf tournament began on Tuesday, at Marias Valley Golf & Country Club in Shelby.

For the boys, Tyson Lee of Jefferson led the leaderboard with a 71, holding a two-stroke lead. Kellen Meyer of Choteau and Regan Stuart of Malta were in a three-way tie for fifth, and Kael Meyer of Choteau sat in 9th. Ryan Bell of Chinook and Kenny Weasel of Harlem were both in a four-way tie at 25th.

On the girls tees, the first day leader was Logan McKay of Anaconda, with an 84, leading by two strokes over the next 2 players. Penelope Heaton of Shelby is in 7th place after day one, while teammate Rowen Russell sits at 9th. Chyler Standiford of Chinook was tied for 27th.

In team standings, the Jefferson boys lead with a 330, followed by Choteau with a 334, and Malta in 3rd at 337. Florence-Carlton tops the girls standings at 385 strokes, with Shelby 2nd at 397, and Lone Peak 3rd with 398.

The final round will be played Wednesday in Shelby.
