HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Public Schools Calendar Committee will be holding a community forum on Tuesday, February 15th at 5:30 PM in the Middle School Assembly room to discuss the possibility of moving to a 4-day school week next year.
The Committee recently released a draft report of their findings. Assistant Superintendent Brad Moore is the Committee Chair and says they have done extensive research to try and ensure they are getting the full picture.
“All the positives and negatives and how it would affect Havre Public Schools and our staff and our students. Started compiling that into the report that was discussed at the Board meeting the other night. It’s a long process – regular meetings, staff surveys, community surveys, lots of discussions and lots of work outside the Committee by the Committee members that are involved in their parts and helping put this report together. Lots and lots of time put in by lots and lots of people to try and look at every angle so there’s enough information for the Trustees to make a decision, one way or another.”
Feedback provided from Trustees and the public will help the Committee shape the final report.
A decision could be made as soon as the School Board’s March meeting.
