Democratic Candidate Whitney Williams Discusses Campaign for Governor

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) ― Democratic Candidate Whitney Williams spoke with New Media Broadcasters last week about her race for the Governor’s seat.

Williams was recently endorsed by former Governor Brian Schweitzer and believes her business background will benefit all Montanans.

“Brian and I are both business people. Neither of us had served in office before. I am a first time candidate this time. And I think that what we found, certainly in the case of Brian’s candidacy and then Brian’s governing, was that having been a business leader, having created companies here at home and abroad, which is what I have done as well, really lent itself well to Montana.”

Williams grew up in Helena and says one reason she is in the race is because Montana is changing and needs a governor with a fresh perspective.

“We don’t know what the challenges are that lie ahead. And I do think that a private sector skill set along with a deep belief in public service and public policy, really does make me a great choice for the person to be the next governor of our state.”

Williams says she wants to represent all of the state of Montana and is really excited to talk with people in Havre and the rest of the Hi-Line concerning their needs.
