Pairings for the district 9C tournaments have been set, with the first round of games starting on Thursday in Havre.
For the girls, the Fort Benton Longhorns claimed the top seed and receive a first round bye. The tournament opener will feature the number four Hays/Lodgepole Thunderbirds against the number five Turner Tornados at 9:30am. At 11am, number three Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks meet the number six North Star Knights. Capping the first round at 12:30pm will be the number two seed Big Sandy Pioneers tipping off with the Box Elder Bears.
For the boys tournament, Box Elder earned the first round bye with the top seeding. Play will begin Thursday at 5:30p as number four Turner meets number five North Star. The 7p match up sees number three Fort Benton square off against number six Big Sandy, and number two Chester-Joplin-Inverness plays the night cap facing number 7 Hays-Lodgepole at 8:30p.
