(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – On Tuesday, Montana Republican United States Congressman Troy Downing introduced legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives to authorize construction of the Dry-Redwater rural water system, helping deliver clean and reliable water to communities across eastern Montana. Montana Republican U.S. Senators Steve Daines and Tim Sheehy introduced companion legislation in the U.S. Senate.
The Dry-Redwater rural water system would impact Dawson, Garfield, McCone, Prairie, and Richland counties- all areas which have historically suffered from very poor water quality. The system will include a water treatment plan, over 1,300 miles of pipeline, 116 miles of electrical lines, twelve pump stations, and six storage tanks.
