(Havre) During the Hill County Officials Meeting on March 20th, Hill County Human Resources Official Britt Stygles presented the data from the County’s employee exit interviews from 2023.
In 2023, the main reason employees stated for leaving was other employment, followed by pay and relocating. That was the main reason in 2022 as well, however the rest of the top three reasons for termination at that time were return to school and a category simply called “other”
2023 saw 40 total terminations, which was down from the previous years 43. It’s also worth noting that, for these purposes, “termination” simply means a person leaving a job. It doesn’t necessarily mean that person was fired, said Stygles, but that number does include those that were fired.
The number one positive aspect of the job that former employees named was the type of work they did, followed up by the hours that they worked. The responses were the same in 2022.
