(Washington) U.S. Trading Company of Hayward, CA is recalling their Dragonfly jelly bars because it contains konjac powder and may present a choking hazard.
Konjac has a texture and consistency that could pose a choking hazard to small children.
The recalled jelly bars were distributed to retailers nationwide.
The recall was initiated after the New York State Agriculture Department collected a sample of the jelly containing Konjac. Based upon the products containing the ingredient konjac and the dimensions, FDA has determined that the products present a choking hazard.
No incidents of consumers choking have been reported to date.
The FDA is also alerting the public that Rizo Lopez Foods is recalling their eight ounce Grating Cheese because it could be contaminated with a bacteria that can cause Listeria
Listeria infection is a foodborne bacterial illness that can be very serious for pregnant women, people older than 65 and people with weakened immune systems.
The product was distributed nationwide.
The recall was a result of a routine sampling program which revealed that the finished product contained the bacteria.
To date, no confirmed illnesses related to this product have been reported.
