(Missoula) The opioid crisis is one of the top public safety concerns for not only the state, but the nation and according to the Drug Enforcement Administration, Fentanyl seizures in Montana have already surpassed 40,000 pills in 2024.
The annual report also states, 40 percent of patients found a secondary substance in their system after testing and according to the division of criminal investigation they’re mainly seeing Xylazine laced Fentanyl.
According to Ideal Option, a treatment center specializing in addiction, they saw an overall 98 percent decrease in fentanyl use from patients while remaining in care, which they argue is strong evidence that the so-called epidemic can be fought.
