(Fort Belknap) The Fort Belknap Indian Community is partnering with the US Department of Agriculture to conserve, maintain, and improve grassland productivity in the area, according to a news release from the USDA.
The partnership also aims to reduce soil erosion and enhance wildlife habitat through the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program.
The Fort Belknap Community is entering into the CREP agreement with the USDA’s Farm Service Agency to enroll lands within the boundaries of the reservation, as well as land off reservation but still owned by tribal members.
