FORT BENTON, Mont. (NMB) – The Fort Benton Police Department has provided an update on an ongoing investigation after numerous vehicle burglaries and related thefts were reported in Fort Benton and Carter on the morning of December 17th.
Christopher Eli Henderson, 26, of Great Falls, was arrested last week and is currently in the Chouteau County Detention Center. He is facing charges that include the felonies of theft of a motor vehicle and theft of a credit card, as well as misdemeanor traffic charges including driving with a suspended license. More charges could be added as the investigation continues.
On Monday, three additional suspects were located and identified after a search warrant was served on a vehicle in Great Falls. They are all adult males from Great Falls. They have not been publicly identified because their charges are pending. All three are expected to be charged with multiple felonies, including burglary. As of Monday, they were in custody in Great Falls on other charges.
There are not believed to be any additional suspects, but the investigation is ongoing.
A majority of the stolen items from Fort Benton and Carter have been recovered.
