GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – Deer hunters need to be aware of changes taking place this month in four hunting districts north of Great Falls in Fish, Wildlife and Parks Region 4.
A press release says that deer hunting ends a half hour after sunset on November 17th in four hunting districts in north central Region 4: Hunting Districts 400, 401, 403, and 406 with one exception.
The exception this year to the three-week season concerns the Moffat Bridge Chronic Wasting Disease Special Hunt Area in HD 400. Holders of any unused Moffat Bridge Special CWD mule deer B licenses may continue to hunt antlerless mule deer only on these licenses within the CWD hunt area until December 1st, or until the quota of 120 antlerless mule deer is reached, whichever comes first.
Samples are mandatory from all deer harvested within the Special CWD Hunt Area and must be checked within three days of harvest at the check station located 18 miles south of Chester on Moffat Road.
