In nail-biting double-header hardwood action on the campus of Rocky Mountain College the MSU-Northern Skylights and Lights made sure to leave an impression on the Battlin Bears in their first Frontier Conference match of the 2022 calendar year.
In the Skylights game the Battlinbears struck iron hot and fast from the tip off and never let up and dominated by the half with the Skylights trailing 22-40. The MSU-Northern women came back in the final minutes of the game but ran out of time, falling to the BAttlinbears by a score of 63-76.
The Lights were facing the same ending as the women’s team when at the half as the MSU-Northern men’s team trailed Rocky Mountain College, 29 to 43. Just when it seemed like sweep by Rocky Mountain College the Northern Lights rocketed to the lead with less than eight minutes left in the game, notching a win with a final score MSU 78, Rocky Mountain College 69.
Next game and double header event for Northern is Saturday at Montana Tech. The game will air on QX 92.5 FM, with the first game at 2PM.
