Earlier this week, Havre’s own Kyndall Keller was named a Second Team NAIA All-American for her efforts on the basketball court for Carroll College this season. The 2024-25 Frontier Conference Player of the Year was getting buckets left and right during the last three months of the campaign, averaging over 16 points a game. Her 14.5 points overall a contest was fifth amongst Frontier Conference talent this past season.
The former Blue Pony closes out her basketball career with multiple All-Conference selections after transferring from the University of Montana, as well as a trip to the 2024 NAIA basketball tournament semifinal, where her Saints lost to fellow Frontier Conference rival Providence. Her high school career was marked by back-to-back state championships at the Class ‘A’ level as well as being named the 2019-20 Gatorade Montana girls basketball player of the year, becoming the second Havre basketball player to win the award after Loree Payne did so almost 20 years earlier.
Keller was not the only Frontier Conference player honored as an All-American as Rocky’s Sydney Dethman took home Third Team honors. The Brockton, MT native is also a product of a Division I transfer, coming over from Fresno State before the start of 2024-25. From there, the post player dominated, leading the Frontier in points per game at 16.2 and making more than 50 percent of her shots from the floor.
Frontier Conference player of the year on the men’s side Hayden Diekhans was also named an All-American as he was placed on the second team. Out of Geraldine and Fort Benton High School, Diekhans was a floor general for Montana Tech, leading the Orediggers in scoring, steals, minutes played, and rebounding. Like the women of the Frontier who made the list, the junior eclipsed the 1,000-point career mark this past season.
