Future Fisheries Project in Blaine County Approved

BLAINE COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has announced the approval of a future fisheries project in northern Blaine County.

FWP says the project is for Reser Reservoir, located about 18 miles northwest of Chinook. The project entails a dam reconstruction and fish habitat improvement.

This includes restoration of streams to a natural condition, installing fish barriers to isolate important native populations, decommissioning roads near streams, improving fish passage, reservoir habitat placement, screening fish out of irrigation diversions, and more.

A total of 10 future fisheries projects across the state were approved last week by FWP.
