GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks will host two open houses in Region 4 this month to take public comments on proposed fishing regulations.
A press release says that the first open house will be at 7 PM, August 20th at the FWP Region 4 headquarters in Great Falls. The second will be at 7 PM on August 22nd at the Lewistown Public Library.
The meetings are part of a statewide effort to take public comments on proposed fishing regulations that would start March 1st.
Among the proposals include changing the walleye limit in the Missouri River from Holter Dam to Cascade Bridge, allow spearing for northern pike through the ice in Canyon Ferry Reservoir, seasonally closing certain Smith River tributaries to fishing to protect spawning trout, changing the tiger muskie limit in Ackley Lake, allowing anglers to catch and keep trout near Lewistown, and reducing the possession number of catfish in the Central Fishing District.
FWP will accept comment through September 15th.
