FWP Field Day for Havre and Classroom Course for Fort Belknap

(NMB) Montana, Fish Wildlife and Parks has a hunter education field day for Havre and an in person Hunter Education class for Fort Belknap coming up the beginning of October. Havre’s Field Day will take place on Friday October 3rd. Students must have completed the on line classroom course in order to attend the field day and FWP’s Marc Kloker tells us what students will be doing during field day.

“So, they get to handle five different actions of firearms, they learn how to safely cross the fence with a firearm, they might do other things like taking guns in and out of vehicles and why that such a challenge for some folks where there’s a lot of injuries when that happens, make sure your guns are unladed. So, they get to do all those hands-on pieces that they really don’t get to do with the on-lone course.”

The hunter education in person classroom course will be held in Fort Belknap on Saturday and Sunday October 4th and 5th from 9am until 3pm each day. In person classroom courses are available to anyone age 10 and older. Students must be registered prior to attending a course. For course details and to register vist the Montana Fish, Wildlife and parks website.

This will be the last opportunity for Hunter Education courses before the general season for deer begins.
