ENNIS, Mont. (NMB) – Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is investigating after over 800 whitefish and 20 trout were found dead along the Madison River near Ennis Dam.
The die-off was first reported on May 18th by boaters. The fish were found along a 10-mile stretch between Ennis Dam and Warm Springs Boat Launch
It is not clear how the fish died. Samples from the fish are being tested by biologists.
