(Helena) – Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks is accepting public comment on proposed rules for a new bonus point system for Smith River permits.
This is in response to House bill Number 846 which also limits the number of permits that nonresidents may buy to no more than 10 percent of available permits. the new bonus points system allows a person to increase their odds of drawing a permit for the Smith River by accumulating bonus points.
A public hearing to receive comments will be held through Zoom on September 29th at 10 am. Written comments can be mailed to Colin Maas, FWP, 4600 Giant Springs Road, Great Falls, Montana, 59405; or emailed to: fwpsmithrulecomments@mt.gov
Deadline for comments is October 10th at 5 pm.
